Digital Wizardry

As a Visual Effects artist, I had the privilege of working on some of television's most acclaimed projects, including HBO's Boardwalk Empire, The Pacific (created by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg), and Starz's Black Sails. My contributions helped The Pacific and Black Sails win Emmy Awards for Outstanding Special Visual Effects during the years I worked on them, showcasing my skill in delivering high-caliber VFX work. Additionally, I worked on various other projects that demanded precision, creativity, and attention to detail. From high-intensity battle scenes to more nuanced visual effects,

As the Art Director for SOMA and White House/Black Market, I played a pivotal role in creating engaging social media content and motion graphics, significantly boosting both sales and views. One of the major challenges I faced was the last-minute delivery of assets for motion graphics. To address this, I implemented a proactive solution: storyboarding three potential options while awaiting final assets. This allowed us to work efficiently under tight deadlines and maintain the high quality of our content.

Approximately 70% of the content produced for Soma’s campaigns was my work, and the results spoke for themselves. The success of our creative output led to a noticeable increase in audience engagement and prompted the client to express interest in renewing our contract.

Art with a Flow

Over the past four years, I've been designing for the band Gumbo, which has been both rewarding and challenging. One of the biggest hurdles was creating visuals that matched their evolving sound. Their style shifted from classic hip-hop to a more eclectic, genre-blending mix. Translating that into album covers, merchandise, and promotional materials required a fresh, adaptive approach for each release.

Another challenge was maintaining consistency across all platforms while still keeping each project distinct. Gumbo's audience is diverse, so finding a balance between bold, avant-garde designs and something universally appealing was key. I solved this by incorporating recurring visual elements—like color schemes and typography—while experimenting with textures and illustration styles.

AIM World Services

Working with AIM World Services presented unique challenges due to the company's global scale and diverse audience. The main difficulty was ensuring that the design and video content remained culturally relevant across different regions while staying aligned with the company’s brand identity. To address this, I worked closely with local teams to gain insights into each market, allowing us to create visuals that resonated universally but still felt personalized.

Finally, creating videos that showcased AIM’s technical services while keeping them engaging required a balance of creativity and clarity. By using dynamic motion graphics and clear narratives, I made complex information more accessible and visually appealing.

PAul Mooney’s

The American President

"The American President" was an animated series pitch written by comedian Paul Mooney, where Paul stars as Kunte Kente, the first Black President of the United States. My role was to design the entire cast of characters. One of the biggest challenges I faced was managing the input of multiple producers, each with their own vision of what the characters should look like. To streamline the process, I created multiple head and body options for each character, allowing for flexibility in design and quick adjustments based on feedback. This approach made it easier to accommodate different creative directions while maintaining a cohesive and polished final look.

Rhythm and Design

I served as the Art Director and Co-Producer for Piece Fest, a graffiti and music event filmed as a pilot for the TV show The Chosen One, produced by David Arquette. The event brought together renowned graffiti artists, live music performances, and vibrant street culture. The Chosen One is a street art competition, created by legendary graffiti artist Kelly 'Risk' Graval and Corin Nemec, where artists incorporate major commercial brands into their murals. For the pilot, Java Monster's logo was the focal point of the murals.

Piece Fest featured art battles, live performances, and public art walls, all culminating in a competition between OG Abel and Australia’s The Massive. Celebrity judges from the arts and entertainment industries, including David Faustino and Kelly 'Risk' Graval, selected The Chosen One at the end of the event. Piece Fest provided a dynamic, creative space for artists, brands, and fans to unite in celebration of street art culture.

NERD GIRLS

NERD GIRLS

As Art Director and Co-producer for Disney’s Nerd Girls, I collaborated with author Alan Sitomer to design the concept art for the book's characters. Partnering with Creative Director Gaston D-Letelier of Meltdown Comics and NTWRK, I played a pivotal role in bringing the visual identity to life. My contributions included designing the official logo, as well as the artwork for the accompanying app video game, ensuring a consistent and engaging brand experience across platforms. Additionally, I developed numerous merchandise concepts through two detailed lookbooks—Nerd Gear—for both girls and boys. These designs reflected the unique style and spirit of Nerd Girls, helping to create a vibrant and marketable brand. This project highlights my expertise in translating stories into visual media, from concept to product.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what's going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don't hear your own voice in your head, that's a good sign you still have more work to do.
